With legends like Frank Sinatra and Robert De Niro having frequented this place, Grotta has always been one of the most popular Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. The 'Blue Grotto' disappeared for six years since its opening over a century ago, however it reopened with renewed vigor again to much fanfare. The multi-level eatery still retains some historic features like the marble and mosaic floors; and its vintage mahogany bar and wine cave stack about 1,600 bottles.

Me and wife alone on little Italy around lunch time wanted nice Italian restaurant. We choice the place and sat inside and had good serivce and tasty food. We.ordred the fried clamary for starter and then each had seafood pasta which was very. Tasty. I would recommend if looking nice Italian restaurant to have lunch and drinks.
Food was awesome really good. Service was absolutely terrible as I'm writing this review I'm still waiting 20 min. For drink refill and or tab drop off and or the waiter to say anything to us in the 45 min we have been here. They are not busy. the guy is just that terrible. If you like good food but God awful service come here. Literally went to the bar to refill drinks. Basically waited on ourselves.
Had pasta fagul soup,spaghetti, and chicken. Spaghetti was good but the soup and ckicken was very plain. 20% tip was added to the bill. Sorry but we will decide on the tip. Do not go. Much better places down the street.
Great meal and even better service. Will be back.
