Amazing atmosphere and really great service despite the fact that they are a very popular and busy restaurant. Highly recommend!!
Had lunch there while visiting Gruene. Food was good but not over the top great. Both of us had the chicken fried steak with the torpedoes as an appetizer. The waitress was very sweet and the atmosphere was nice. I’m glad to say we had the experience and would return next visit to try something different on the menu.
I like the place.... the wait is long and it would be great to get a light up pager or text message when your table is ready so you could go have a drink next door. The food was so-so, I’d stick to the apps, salads and burgers. The onion rings were awesome. The service was really slow. I’ll give it another try since it was a Saturday night in the middle of summer.... but they could use a shake up in the way they run things so that it works better!
A must when in the area!!!! If possible leave room for The JD'S Pecan Pie!!!
I being a former resident of new Braunfels, don’t really care for this restaurant because the food isn’t all the great . My steak wrapped with bacon was for the amateurs!! It was just ok. I could of cook the steak myself and would of done a better job . My broccoli 🥦 was hard like .... hard . Our waiter gave us ok service nothing I would highlight . In retrospect, I only went there because of how my out of town friends want to come to this place ..... so I’m obliging their request ..... otherwise I would not come back, ever... read more
The best chicken fried steak in WHOLE state of Texas. Worth the wait
Our server was amazing!! She put our kiddos food in early and even brought a extra mashed potatoes when one of our boys wanted to switch food. Everyone one friendly and the service was top notch!! Always a must when visiting the area!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!!
Most excellent restaurant lunch, dinner, whenever. Awesome outside riverside seating shaded by the beautiful trees. Food is fantastic... service is tops! Thanks to our amazing server Rose!
We went on Monday night, arrived around 7pm. Didn’t realize it’s all outdoor seating. Food was great, service was quick, atmosphere was spot on. Thanks, we will visit again!
