We sat outside by the river. I go here more for the experience than I do the food. You'll get a decent meal. My friend had the Salmon and said it was the best she'd ever had-with the seafood seasoning. I had a burger-nothing to write home about. I'll still go back for the view. Our waiter was really nice and did a great job.
Great food and great atmosphere. Onions rings were awesome. Long Island was pretty damn good also.
A staple every time I visit Austin area. First place I ever had chicken fried steak in 1981 - one of the best I've had. The best onion rings!!
Service is good. Food is always good. If you get the steak, ask for some lemon butter to put over it. Makes it out if this world.
We were all excited to go..it was my daughter birthday she want to try it. We were ten people. Food was good service was good..but nothing was wonderful. Maybe if we were seated inside (not a big fan of our side in this heat) we would not have paid attention to the unpleasant experience of the rain or Sun on us. Not sure if well return.
Great view, good food, service was a little lacking, but I always enjoy going to Gruene, TX.
We visit the Gristmill every time we go to float the river. The atmosphere is great and it's in a great little town. Unfortunately, it's become so popular it seems to have outgrown itself. The wait for a table is an hour to an hour and a half on weekends, and the wait for the food has gotten long too. When your kids fall asleep at the table, you know you've been there too long. I think next time we will find somewhere less charming, but where we can actually eat at a reasonable time.

Like the page??? Wish there was a Love ❤️ Atmosphere very casual. Can easily be a date night to a night out with friends depending on seating arrangements. For sure a go to!
