My husband and I were in town for my birthday and chose Grillfish. We didn't make reservations and arrived at 6:45. It was not too busy and we were seated quickly by an unfriendly host. Our waiter was very friendly and the decor was nice. I had Chicken Paillard. The chicken was good, but the mashed potatoes were brown and old. My husband got the shore platter. At $23 he only got 1 tiny piece of fish, 2 shrimp, and 2 scallops with a tiny portion of fries. The spicy slaw was warm and had very little dressing on it. Our sangria... read more

Absolutely amazing! The pan fried cabbage, Brussels sprouts and mac n cheese were the best items I had that night. Still gotta try the left over crab cakes my wife carried home. Service and atmosphere were great! If I lived here I would go back often. I'll have to wait for my next visit for a 2nd round.

My husband and I were in DC for a weekend without the kids. We decided to go to the grill fish for dinner. Could not have asked for a better place to eat. We had the fried risotto balls for an appetizer and they were delicious. For dinner He had the grilled lobster over linguine and I had the mixed grill which was just as fabulous. We had a wonderful waitress Samaya. Very classy and very knowledgeable about the menu. I would definitely come back here again and recommend it to anyone that loves seafood.

Really quite awful. The fish was really overcooked and yet cold. The wine was not what I ordered (e.g. ordered sparkling wine, but it was either flat or was not the wine I ordered). The waiter knew the wine was flat and brought it out anyway. They were not very busy, so there is no excuse. Frankly, I am still thinking about a dinner that was supposed to have been nice.
