Truly enjoy this place.. definitely my happy place... I especially love all of the sustainable fresh food here.. salmon scampi, buffalo shrimp, oysters.. all amazing!

Fresh fresh fish. Wonderfully helpful waitstaff. Chowder was not what I expected but I am from Boston and figured it was going to be New England style chowder. It wasn’t.
Well, the sautéed spinach was fantastic. The mahi mahi in the other hand was nothing special and actually a little overcooked. It also took quite a while to get my food considering all I had was the piece of fish and spinach. No bread or anything to hold me over. Lots of water!
Food was just ok. Had better elsewhere in DC. We went there on a review. We were disdainfully escorted to an outside table after being told they had nothing available for 7 inside. Clearly they did. They then told us happy hour didn't apply to our table as we were "outside." Nothing on the chalkboard outside the place indicated that at all. For value for money look elsewhere. Much more friendlier and welcoming establishments very close by. Expensive for what it was.

Hi Dean, I'm sorry about being sat outside when you visited us. When you arrived, the tables you saw inside were reserved and we had many of them coming in soon after your arrival. Unfortunately, the happy hour is only inside at the bar. The sign outside does in fact state that. We do have select tables that we offer outside for happy hour, but those two tables were already sat and the happy hour ends for those tables at 6. Thanks and all the best!
Gonna give it a "meh" for brunch. It was empty and no football and a staff that was frankly more worried about dinner. I went for the soft shell crabs and I had better elsewhere but the broccoli rabe was the best thing on the plate and the steak and eggs my guest had were excellent...once again the potatoes needed work. I've been to Grillfish since the early 2000's and this was a low. The 3 stars were for my previous 6 visits.
We had the shrimp scampi and it was delicious! Our waiter Chris was knowledgeable and kind.
