I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment time and sat down in the waiting room. I quickly realized I forgot to check-in at the machine, not a human. The medical assistant called me back and said Dr Deines expects his patients to be at the appointment 10-15 min before the scheduled time. Dr Deines refused to see me even though I registered for the appointment 2 minutes before my scheduled appointment time.
Dr. Deines made me go to the diabetes educator. We (educator and I) came up with a plan and Dr. Deines completely ignored it. He didn't listen to anything I had to say and instead of trying something different he just kept upping my insulin.
Advocates for thorough diabetes management beyond physiology but caring for mental care of chronic disease, nutrition and daily routine of Type 1 living. Takes time with each visit, listens, responds to questions, makes sure you understand and get every concern addressed before leaving appointment.
