Boo. Limit me to 1.25 drinks per hour per table...seriously? Offer water only...sad but yet across us nonstop pitches...wth.
Rude service from hostess and bartender. I love the downtown Dane and enjoy eating and drinking at many many different places all over Madison, but the service here has always been just rude. This Dane is the closest to where I live but I will always drive the extra couple miles and risk being able to find parking to go to the downtown one.
Their beer is so bad, especially in a town with Karben4, Ale Asylum, Vintage, etc. Definitely my last time here.
Ive had burgers at every major establishment in Madison. This was by far the worst burger out there. Cost $9.50 and was the driest burger that Ive ever seen. Previously frozen, not fresh which you don't expect for that price. Actually made me a bit sick the quality was so poor. On the plus side our waiter was very nice and attentive. Service was very good. But the burgers. Wow. What are you thinking?
Visited on a Sunday afternoon...burger just so-so; nothing to write home about for $10. The bun on my burger as well as my husband's burger, was dry. But the worst thing in my husband's view was...his beer was very warm...yuck. Nothing like a warm beer! Used to love Great Dane but last couple of visits have been disappointing.
You can't beat the atmosphere of the Great Dane Hilldale.
Coming in to town from the Detroit area we wanted to check out WI's beer. This was an excellent location. The waitress was very knowledgeable about both the beer and food. Our beer was excellent and we took a growler back to Michigan. Next time we are in town we shall be back!
