Still as amazing as ever
Very unpleasant interaction with the owner. Shamed me for not having 2 phone numbers, which is a requirement for an account (my previous was with my ex.) All of my people are dead. I have no other number. I objected to the suggestion of putting a friend's number down because they literally lost a disc I had returned that week and I didn't like the idea of my friends being harassed over my video-rental issues. Come check this place out. Create an account and rent some DVDs like we did back in the day. I think you can even rent a DVD player if you need to. Back in my kiddo day, we had to rent an old school huge VHS player. It is a great experience.
This is a long-running family-owned small business, or at least, it feels this way. Great American was around when I was a kid, so we're talking decades, but I never actually went (and I don't know why). My sister brought me through their drive through one day to get a coffee-boosted milkshake and let me tell you, if you're in the mood for classic ice cream or a milkshake, this is the spot!
