I was notified by voicemail that my mom died on Thanksgiving day. I don’t think this is what a hospital should do no matter the pandemic or anything else. I also don’t think the hospital policies and draconian Governor policies are correct of banning visitors. My mom was alone in this hospital for almost 3 weeks and only saw me for 3 hours the day before her death. We pay a lot for healthcare insurance, something is wrong when compassion is not included in it.

UPMC did not properly set up the referral for my child's specialist visit and after 5 MONTHS of back and forth with their billing and my insurance trying to find out which hoops to jump through, their billing department fully aware that I have worked continually for months since the very first bill and insurance is slow, sent the bill to collections after assuring me they would not. Incompetent billing is going to hurt my credit and I haven't met a specialist there yet who was worth this kind of effort, not one. Garbage.

Business response:

Hi Jenn. We are sorry to hear about this negative experience. Can you please send us a private message with your contact information so that we can have someone from Billing reach out to you to try to help with this?

Jaqueline Aspira has been working here yet still belittles her patient and makes rude remarks! Very unprofessional and I’m so dissatisfied with the service St. Joseph’s has to offer as a cancer patient in treatment. Will NEVER recommend this facility as a patient or worker.

Business response:

Hello Chelsea, We are sorry to hear about the negative experience you had in our hospital. If possible, we would like to speak with you more about this situation. Please email us at: SJMCinfo@DignityHealth.org with your contact information so that we may follow up with you. Thank you. –GU

I was just turned away from an empty office for an initial consult because I had a “fever” of 99.4 despite explaining that I believed my Columbia down coat had raised my core temp. I work in health care and would never turn away a patient for this. This was my first experience with UPMC and I will not be back nor recommend anyone else endure this nonsense.

When our little boy got on his sled and forgot to jump off before he hit the trailer at the end of our hill, his head took the blunt of the crash and needed attention! The Emergency room staff were absolutely amazing! We were in and out in 30 minutes. Shoutout to Sarah and Dr. Kramer for being so quick and encouraging to our 6 year old! I know life is crazy in the ER and the pandemic has worn so many people down but I am thankful for staff who show up every day and care for our community, my little boy included 💙

Business response:

Thank you Sarah for sharing your experience and glad to hear that your little boy is doing well. We have shared your compliments with the staff. Thanks, KG
