A Sailing birthday Celebration I booked a two hour semi-private boat tour with Captain Don to help celebrate my son's 6th birthday while in San Diego. It was a super easy booking on their website and then meeting up at the boat in the Marina just behind the Hyatt Regency in Mission Bay. What an excellent way to spend a late afternoon/evening! My wife and I went on a sunset cruise with Gone Sailing and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Not only did we get to see an amazing view of the evening sunset but our captain Don also spotted a whale and got us close enough to see it mere feet from the boat. Aside from the whale sighting we also saw quite a few dolphins and a sea lion. It was a very relaxing evening!
It was the best ever. The captain went out of his way to make my birthday special. The charter was fabulous and I would recommend this as a must do!!
Don is a really special person and more importantly captain of his vessel, who truly wants you to be safe but also involved in your experience on the ocean. If you're looking for straight forward experience that can be summed up into a post card then move on but if you truly want to make a friend in San Diego and a lifelong experience then you found the right place! Thanks again Don and newly first mate from Alaska with the best smoked salmon ever!!
