Upon reviewing Davit's membership I found that he did indeed sign up for a year membership on 02/28/2020. This agreement was also initialed by Davit to be renewed at the end of the term. This agreement was emailed to Davit the same day at 3:10pm, after signatures were made by Davit. With a year agreement, a 30 day notice and "current" billing status is required to cancel. I made a appointment to visited the West Covina a Gold's Gym at 10am Friday February 26. To start there was no greetings, no smiles, I felt as if I was inconveniencing their day ... Next I was told by the "salesmen" oh the seven day pass ** a one day ... I said ok no worries. He responded with "So you wanna sign up?" .. doesn't even ask any questions at all?! worst ****************, almost nonexistent. i joined their gym 2 months prior to the pandemic, and obviously since then haven't been. a year later i was charged out of nowhere for a monthly bill for the first time with no warning. since then i have tried to obtain a refund and cancel my membership which is impossible. additionally getting in touch with someone is so incredibly difficult. they have a "retention" team which has no phone and will only communicate via email, i have begged and pleaded with this mysterious nameles... read more

All members were frozen during the time that the gym was closed due to pandemic. Prior to the gym re-opening, all members were emailed that we were opening and gave them the option to continue their freeze or cancel. Members were given the whole month of January to respond. If there was no correspondence then will started billing in February.
After the first lockdown I had set my girlfriend up with a "Family Add On" to my account. The guy at the desk said it would ONLY be an extra $5 a month to add her on making my monthly fee of 9.95 to 14.95 a month. Then I started to notice I was getting charged double and when asking the Manager why this was happening, he replied "Oh, we don't do family add on to accounts." What the heck did I sign up for then? This business really took advantage of COVID19 this year. There were absolutely no calls, letters, or emails giving notice to its clients indicating status of reopening or closing of their gym locations other than their website. It irritates many clients (evident of Yelp reviews) when customers are not given notice before they are charged for their membership fees during the pandemic when people are not really aware of their membership status. Golds Gym is very Unethical. Right Now during the COVID-19 they just start charging peoples credit cards without asking them if they have been affected by the WORLD-WIDE PANDEMIC, I was Charged. I call to cancel and get a refund, and they said there is only two reasons they would cancel, if you moved or if you have a DRs. Note. Its seems very evil and unethical not to cancel due to COVID-19 PANDEMIC. They don't care if you lost your job or if your practicing social distancing by not attending places like Gyms.
