RUDE HOSTESS!!! – My husband and I LOVE this restaurant- we have been several times. Especially since it is so close to where we live, and the food and drinks are amazing. But last night, the hostess (black curly hair, kind of tall) was SO RUDE that we are considering never going back just because of her. Excellent dinner. Fresh & tasy. – Went with four people & had dinner recently. Sat at the long tables & we all shared everything. We did not get any of the the entrees because I like small plates, tappas best & Gjellma is perfect for this. Good service & fair prices make this a new favorite.
Delicious food...Great atmosphere – Yumtastic food and great atmosphere. Small plates filled with local fresh food. Mushroom toast is a favorite...best steamed mussels in town. Service still has its kinks...room for improvement.
DELICIOUS and so cute – I'm an eastsider and anti driving to Venice, but I will go back for this place any day. Cute, rustic decor with home-ey feel. Let's cut the the chase: Mushroom goat cheese pizza - AMAZING. Lamb Burger - Amazing. Salad with Asparagus Fennel Cherry Tomatoes etc-AMAZING (I don't even like asparagas. But wow - what's in that magical dressing?). I wish I was more hungry so I could have tried everything else.

YUMMY and FUN – Fantastic new place! I was there last night. No reservations, but my friend and I waited only a few minutes before we were seated at one of their communal tables. Funky, cool decor. Fairly loud, but the high-energy in the room and around the bar made it feel like a celebration. We shared several dishes between us, and everything we ordered was outstanding. FABULOUS!!!! – I went there last night and have labeled it my new FAV place!!!! I had a reservation for two @ 7:30 because I didn't want to sit at the communal table. We were seated promptly @ 7:30 the only problem was it was outside in the back and it was freezing! The heaters above this table were not working so we didn't want to sit there. Be careful with reservations – I made a reservation for a party of 7 and then confirmed five minutes before arrival, only for them to tell me that there was not room for our reservation. There was at least 12 tables free and it was a Sunday early afternoon.The management and especially the receptionist should learn to try and accomodate guests instead of being so snobbish on the restaurant row of Abbott Kinney, where there are many lovely choices!
