Good Food, TERRIBLE SERVICE – The food was good. BUT, unfortunately what I took home from this restaurant was a feeling that I would not go out of my way to go back to eat there again. I eat out a lot, and the service here was some of the Worst I've ever encountered. Many things were missed. The waiter never came to the table after things were served to see if we needed anything. Favorite New Restaurant!!! – Gjelina is by far the best kept secret in Los Angeles right now. Tucked away in Venice on Abbot Kinney, this hidden gem is truly a fabulous dinner spot. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the service and recommendations could not have been better - and the food is INCREDIBLE! Tip: Order a bunch of dishes and share and definitely make a reservation in advance to sit on the patio (only way to go)! SO worth it - enjoy fellow foodies!!!

Delicious food, great new restaurant – Went on a Wendesday night, there were 7 of us and the menu had something for everyone. We started with 2 thin crust pizzas (one mushroom and one with carmelized onions), both were delicious. We shared the mixed lettuce salad and some sides. Great Mussels! – I have been to this restaurant twice this week. Love it!!! Great positive vibe. The mussels are to die for! They may be the best thing on the menu. Great prices for high quality food. The menu is different but I don’t think you could go wrong with anything you order. I love the smaller plate idea so you can share with others and try a couple of other things. Wine prices are too high for the quality of the wines that are serving. High Heels – For all of you ladies who love to wear those high heels....BEWARE.... the floor in the entire restaurant is made out of bricks thus very bumpy.... I felt like a 10 year old wearing my mothers heels because i couldn't keep my balance. I thought my ankles were going to snap. So for those who want to strut your stuff on your hot date may want to rethink which shoes you wear.... or just don't get up from your seat :)
DON'T BOTHER – These people are MEAN !!! The hostess' (all of them) are incredibly rude. Reservations are impossible unless made weeks in advance. If you are on the waiting list, they treat you like you're a 3rd class citizen. The prices and the quality do not justify this stuffy, pretentious attitude. I hope the owner reads this one, becuase I think you're A BAD OWNER for keeping the people who represent your restaurnat, yeah, those people would be called your staff. Call me, I can teach you a thing or two.
Funky Cold Gjelina – I'm still trying to understand all the fuss for this place. Yes, great location, great design and ambiance, but decent food and mediocre service. Perhaps the problem with this experience is the occasion of a group celebration. I'm guessing the evening would have been different if venturing to the restaurant with one other person and expecting nothing more than a casual dinner with a friend and a glass of wine.
