This is a neat place to stop and eat breakfast or lunch. The place was clean, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. Blue Gill and eggs--Yum! We would definitely stop to eat if traveling this way again.
If you are traveling through the area and looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot and have had your fill of fast food and chain restaurants, this place is hard to beat. We had lightly fried Blue Gill and cinnamon roll pancakes among several unique items on the menu. They have all the classics as well. Blue Gill could have spent a bit more time in the fryer but that is a very minor quibble because it was fresh fish that really tasted like fish. Always cared for in a timely manner. Food is so delicious, that it is worth every moment of standing in line. Gluten free kitchen for those that need it is great. Get there early to avoid the rush & enjoy a meal that is better than homemade.

1. Was not asked if we would like to sit inside or outside. (Had no idea there was an outside, until we were leaving) 2. There were two people STANDING behind the podium/register instead of bussing or watering tables or offering more coffee. 3. We were told they were short staffed, yet there was no sense of urgency in helping customers. 4. There was three of us and we waited 45 minutes, yes, 45 minutes, for eggs and an omelette. And the food was mediocre at best. It's too bad because they can do a lot more with the place

So sorry you had a poor experience. Perhaps the patio was full, as it usually is. My staff at the Hostess station were doing exactly as I have instructed them. To greet customers, run the register and seat customers. I am happy you didn't sense a "sense of urgency". That means my staff handles stress very well. It was a very busy pre-holiday - day. Best Blue Gill anywhere. The food is half the story, though. The people are what males it great!
We noticed this place coming off the highway on our way to Hidden Valley Campground. Went there for breakfast yesterday and OMG this place was FAB. Going back for lunch today. Bluegill is fresh and crispy
