We've been going to Gilboa for 13 years now. A great place to dive, plenty of interesting things to see.
Dove here again on 7-5-18. viz around 60' (chance of fowl weather so not much of a crowd silting it up), surface 80*, thermocline 25' and upper 60 deg range. the tubes (65') were 52*. If you've never dove here, its a bit pricey (non divers and pets cost, parking by water costs, and in general prices are higher than other quarries) but in its defense its one of the best training sites ive ever dove.
Love this place. We like to go and “glamp” and dive the weekend. Always well taken care of. The staff here works long and hard hours to make sure everyone is taken care of. Looking forward to my next trip.
Recommendedthe diving is outstanding for quarry diving. layer up or dry suit as it is cold, but not unbearable. be prepared to descend either a rocky path or wood ladders to get to staging area and the platforms. I'd bring a tarp to put your gear on and a couple chairs to relax in
I enjoy going to gilboa to dive, however the fish are very aggressive will attack looking for food. I don’t think they have enough.
this is a great place to dive easy simple a lots of fun stuff to see I'm glad I have an annual membership there
It is by far the best place underwater to dive in Ohio. I’ve been coming here for 4 years now and nothing has changed, no new attractions or swim throughs even though there are planes, boats, and motorcycles sitting around. Always have trouble during the week getting air fills because the one worker is not certified and the owner takes his sweet time coming to fill the tanks. Outstanding service! Mike(owner) always goes out of his way to make sure we have everything we need for our divers. The two young ladies at the Counter were outstanding! We only use Gilboa quarry for our Advanced open water dives! Come on dive you will not be disappointed!
