As we were shopping we asked for a recommendation for a good place to eat. Without hesitation it was suggested we go to Gilbert's Chowder House. After securing seating on the patio we placed our order. It wasn't long before the most delicious - and definitely home made - clam chowder and fried clams were delivered to our table. Awesome! We had clams, oysters, scallops, mussels and haddock. Not a single bad bite! If you’re in Portland, it’s well worth a stop!
Food was okay but the service is subpar. We waited a long time to get waited on and I had to ask for service from several food servers standing around.
