Dated bathrooms and hallways. Cannot control air conditioning
We just spent two nights at the Gideon, and the best part was their shuttle to and from the races. The AC didn’t work in our room (which could use an upgrade in general), we heard the service elevator all night and there were two lamp lights burnt out. They also “forgot” to clean our room and don’t have room service (so I’m not sure what that high resort fee was actually for). I am writing to provide feedback on our recent stay at the Gideon Putnam Hotel. This was meant to be a special anniversary celebration, and we chose your property because of the wonderful experience we had there some 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the quality of this visit did not align with our expectations, nor did it justify the rate of more than $873.96 per night. The Amenity Fee of $30 is really over the top. The Good: Beautiful and well-kept grounds Convenient and walkable to SPAC Friendly staff The Bad: The room (no. 225) was a disappointment, primarily (but not only) because of the bathroom. As for the bathroom, it is tiny. There is literally no place for toiletries. Taking a shower is an exercise in gymnastics because the bathtub floor flexes when you stand on it while taking a shower.
