I'm so lucky to have found Dr. Gerig (and her NP Kari!) after I was misdiagnosed by doctors in my own town. I branched out to Denver for a third opinion and scheduled an appt with Dr. Gerig, after finding my symptoms listed on her website (coccyx/sitting pain and vestibulodynia). I have seen Dr.Getig for two years. She is an amazing doctor. She peels away the layers of my complicated medical history. She is helping me find answers to my pain when others just dismiss me. She performed an outpatient procedure for me recently. I was so afraid it would hurt so badly; as it has in the past. It was nothing like that with her as my doctor. If you want care, compassion, and expert knowledge then she is the doctor for you. I wouldn’t see anyone else and I have seen many doctors.
I’m a physician myself and was unable to work for an extended period after my first delivery because of a rare complication and a complex pain situation. Dr. Gerig stuck with me through a long, difficult journey of multiple treatments including surgeries, PT, medications, nerve blocks, etc. She sometimes runs behind, but that’s because she’s giving a patient in crisis the attention they need. At one time that patient was me. Happily I’ve been back at work for 5 years & had another child.
Top notch service and care for my condition . She truly cares for her patients.
Dr. Gerig recommended my husband to PT for PELVIC PAIN. He had a clear cystoscopy and everyone handed him off to someone else, including Dr. Bong...who handed him off to Gerig. He was just diagnosed with BLADDER CANCER. Thanks for nothing. Just one more dr who missed ALL my husband's symptoms. Nice work, doc....and you call yourself a UROLOGIST? I don't think so!!!!!!
I need pages to express my gratitude. I have been a patient of Dr. Gerig for over 4 years. She has changed my life. I was suffering with Intercystal Cystitis for 2 years before finally finding this Gem. Some details - I was going to the bathroom every 30 minutes to an hour with a lot of pain. I had 2 doctors in Colo. Spgs. who say problems and did not know how to treat me. After 3 surgeries I have been pain free for over a year! She never gave up when I was very depressed.
Dr. Gerig treated my father's rare form of cystitis. He was in his mid 80s and had been to five other urologists over two years The last before Dr. Gerig admitted to not being able to do anything more...short of "re-plumbing"...something he did not recommend. Dr. Gerig was a good listener, compassionate and thought "outside the box." Her treatment improved my father's quality of life considerably...gave him a new lease on life. Dr. Gerig was an attentive listener/excellent troubleshooter.
Dr. Gerig was very highly recommended by my physician, and she absolutely lived up to his high praise. She spent as much time as was needed to listen to my medical history, exam me, and to explain her thoughts and my plan of care. She was thorough, insightful, incredibly compassionate, and most of all, absolutely brilliant in her understanding of pelvic pain. I have seen many doctors (including treatment at the Mayo Clinic), and her approach is by far the most comprehensive and effective.
I would not recommend this office. Before scheduling a new patient appointment they ask for a booklet of paperwork and after taking 2 hours to fill out the paperwork and fax it in, I never received a call back after calling two times. This doctor was highly recommended by my physician however unfortunately I won’t be going to her as her staff is not willing to call me back and schedule an appointment… Very dissatisfied.
