Dr. Barnes, Mandy, all the nurses at the surgery center and all of the staff are wonderful. I flew to Athens from Oklahoma to have back surgery there. Amazing care I received. I have told everyone I know about this place and the care I received from everyone.
never waited more than 10 mins for any appointment or to be attended for anything, nice, caring, I have a new lease on life after enduring degenerated disk in neck c4-c7 were fused by Dr Barnes 3 weeks ago, the only minor issue is the communication between the Office & Surgery cntr could be a touch better, there are 2 Jennifers, 1 at each office.
This is Charles' second surgery with Dr. Barnes and he's an excellent surgeon. I do have a couple of things that I didn't like about this last surgery. First thing is Charles goes to a pain management Dr. but he and Dr Barnes agreed that while Charles was under Dr. Barnes' care he would handle the pain meds. So he wrote a prescription for a medication half the strength of what he was already taking and the pain Dr was on vacation so he stayed in extreme pain for 8 days. This is my second back surgery with Dr Bruner and I have nothing but positive things to say...I am a month post op on L5 S1 PLIF and every concern or worry I have had they were right there. They have been amazing and my recovery so far is going as they planned :) I definitely recommend! Friendly staff always smiling! It doesn't really matter whether I see the PA or the DR himself they always listen to what I have to say and explain everything in detail and put my worries to ease!
I had a great initial appointment. Check in process was quicker than most and I did not have to wait too long to see the PA. She actively listened to everything I had to say! That's a rare thing nowadays. The only reason I can not give 5 stars is that I am still waiting for the doctor to review my MRI's and call me with his recommendations. However, I am also anxious due to pain and lack of mobility due to my back issues.
