I recently had surgery for a severe disc herniation with Dr. Wahba. I was very hesitant to have surgery since I am so young and essentially went to Dr. Wahba for a second opinion. From my first appointment he was very clear with me on what to expect, as well and pros and cons of the surgery. I appreciate that he did not sugar coat anything and was very honest with me that a surgery like I was having would not guaranteed to fix such a severe disc herniation. Dr Wahba gave me my life back. It’s been about 3 years since my L5-S1 microdiscectomy surgery. Surgery was absolutely the last option. I was young (36) at the time and was terrified. My life consisted of pain every day for 3 years. I tried it all. Nothing helped. I did NOT do epidurals because it’s very high risk and not FDA approved.
