To start off, I myself am an Engineer. George Tatsis, P.E. was sent when Tower hill Insurance needed an inspection done after there was a failed plumbing pipe in my home. The report contained obvious misses. For one, it stated that a water meter couldn't be found after looking for it. Anyone that does home inspections should of instantly seen that the house is on a well system. Beware, this ‘company’ was hired by my so called insurance co.usaa, to get a ‘second opinion ‘on a storm related claim i made. After the first one apparently did give them the ‘answer’ they wanted. I live an hour and a half from Chicago, but Geo hand to farm this out to a guy from southern Indiana? More then 5 hours away from me? I can find no BBB rating for this Co. And lets be honest here? I had a random engineering question as a prospective home buyer. Jim from Geohazards spent a good amount of time explaining the issues to me and helped arm me with great questions. I really appreciate the Geohazards team's responsiveness and guidance!
We worked with Michael "Dale" Jackson, who performed a forensic engineering investigation after State Farm hired him to dispute the documentation from our roofing contractor. The conclusion of his work was an unseen "construction defect" was causing the problem and it was based off experience. No definitive evidence at all. This gave the insurance company exactly what they needed and left me with no answers. Beware - if this company comes out as part of an insurance claim!
