just so-so for us. My husband had major back surgery at Banner Desert last week (March 2013) and came home 6 days later. Between 1985 and 2000, I and other members of my family have been patients here and generally speaking have found the care to be good to excellent. On this visit however, I would rate the care as satisfactory with a few bright spots. The surgeon seems to have done an excellent job (which I suppose is the most important factor). HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND EMOTIONLESS The nurses my family delt with were very nice, yet busy. One of the nurse's assistants, CARMEN was a complete, and udder B****. I do NOT understand how she works in a hospital dealing with emergencys in the intensive care unit. She needs to learn CARE before handling precious cargo belonging to one's family members. totally dissatisfied. for the money spent, i would expect some type of care, rather than cold and tasteless. THUMBS DOWN.
Unnecessary Heart Surgery II was misdiagnosed and given HEART SURGERY by mistake. This happened at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. Terrible and unprofessional My father was in the Banner Baywood ICU for 3 long days last month. My sister and I took turns staying with them. I would take the nights but I could never get any rest. My father was in room 221 which was across from a noisy room full of beeping monitors. The RN said it was called a ??Monitor Room?. The last two nights my father was there, there was a large, robust, warbling, curly haired woman, with the name Janet on her name badge, who was EXTREMELY loud. Sad Place My sister died in this hospital after she got Hospital Acquired Pneumonia, during an ER entry for another problem. I would recommend Saint Joseph's hospital, even if you have to visit St Lukes in Tempe first to get there. Never would I ever want to see anyone I know enter a Banner Hospital after the abusive treatment from staff, and the doctor, toward the family and my sister. If you have insurance you should be able to see, what your being charged Banner baywood, in fact all banner, hospitals, are the worst i have every been too, they are there for the money , i told my husband if i were dieing do not take me to banner hospitals, in Az banner owns 8o percent of the hospitals, had a broken wrist the doctor, would not take x ray, he said it was not broken, have walked out of banner baywood, after waiting 6 hrs, i am disabled this is where are tax payer money , is going, the Government , needs to le... read more
Great physical therapy When I first arrived at Rehab Plus I had a very painful shoulder with numbness and on top of that my neck and back where hurting. Today, thanks to the staff working as a team with me, my shoulder has improved and neck and back are felling much better. The staff is very professional and they truely care about their patients recovery.
perspective of nursing student I am a student nurse that has interned at this hospital. Out of all the hospitals I have been to in the valley, it is by far the worst. I see the doctors and nurses do things that they would not get away with at any other hospital. I find the nurses who work there to be very bitter, and rude to patients as well as eachother.
