Went to The General Warren for the first time yesterday for a post-nuptial, delayed Wedding Reception. The cocktails, small plates and desserts were all delicious and the coffee was amazing. We had the outside patio to ourselves and with the stonework, beautiful gardens and lovely little grotto seating area, it made for a delightfully relaxing afternoon. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Definitely plan a return visit for dinner soon.

Food was fantastic; however, the service for our table had much to be desired--no bread; no replenishment of water or wine; ordered table side Cesar salad for 2 and when it arrived it was on a plate for 1 and we were told that table side does not occur outdoors (should have told us that when we ordered it!). For a restaurant of this fine caliber, I expected much more from our wait person.
Where else can one go in the area where classic is defined? Beautifully historic inside and out with intimate nooks and crannies for dining with family and friends. The staff is experienced and pleasant like few others and the Manhattans are the best. A sultry summer night or a rainy afternoon, this is the place to be.
Excellent food and service! Very great dining experience.
