GIM built my customized new computer within 2 hours! – We moved to Charleston S.C. from Atlanta 5 years ago and missed GIM Computers very much because there's no store like GIM in Charleston. They are quick and helpful. – Twice we have gotten viruses on our (small) business computer - only computer for our business. They have quickly diagnosed and told us that we have to restore, then quickly done it. (Much more quickly than at the big box technology giant we used to use!) They are responsive when we call. They have put our data back after restoration. We have never had a problem with them, and they are polite. They are quite reasonable in their fees too. If you want to be belittled & berated, go ahead... – This place literally reminded of that skit from Saturday Night Live where the company IT guy YELLS at people who don't know as much about computers. I have not been treated so rudely in a long time by any retail business. The owner of the store is scary. No thanks.
Best Computer Store Ever – The prices are always the best. I've been shopping at GIM for about 12 years. I'm an IT guy, and they are able to give me what I need. I also send lots of my non-technical people there and they are always happy.
Never a Problem – I have purchased motherboards, memory, and hard drives form GIM. Have also used their repair service. I have never had a problem with the parts or service. The owners have always been nice to me!
Horrible Customer Service Screaming Fools – I would not depend on these guys. Same type of experience that you see in the rest of the reviews on here. You bring them the stuff to fix for their expertise and then when a hardware part goes down they say get some computer training. Wouldn't that put them out of business? I would not do business here.
Very Reasonable – I have been purchasing computer systems and computer parts from GIM Computers for more than 18 years. They have always had very competitive prices and they are extremely knowledgeable. Companies don't stay in business for 20+ years if they aren't doing a good job and making their customers happy. Great Store! Quicker repairs than most computer repair shops. – GIM Computers is a great computer shop for parts, new or used computers, and computer repair. They have everything you could need to build a computer for the home or office. They have great customer service, and Jim keeps great customer relations as I have seen in the past. They have great prices on parts on the repair services are top quality and quicker than most competitors. I would recommend GIM computers to anyone in need of a computer, a part, or repair.
Horrible customer service – I bought a motherboard and CPU from GIM, as well as a video card. He booted the system up to BIOS, and claimed that everything was fine. As I went home and installed it in my computer, it turns out the ethernet port was bad. It was obviously a hardware issue, as I could install the drivers fine, and even downloaded the latest driver with no success. Later that night, the entire system stopped working.
