I have used the Java Gel and the top coat finish...have tried others but love these products and would like to try more!
I love that GF Milk paint is an exterior/interior and bonus that it's non-toxic! We sprayed a crib with it and the client wanted to make sure it was safe if their biting child had swallowed it, eek. GF has the best sealants too, and a great variety for multiple uses.
RecommendedAbsolutely love the paint and other products. So durable. I use the gel stains all the time. And the paint is so creamy smooth.
Tried GF HP Top Coat for the first time yesterday. It went on well on the small areas of my piece. I did have trouble spreading it on the larger areas without leaving streaks. But, since it is so fast drying, I was able to lightly buff and give a second coat later the same day.
General Finishes paint both Milk & Chalk are wonderful to use along with the stains and top coats. I have abandoned all other brands for GF. Currently I am painting my kitchen cabinets in Seagull Gray and they are turning out beautifully. GF is a value for the quality they create.
I am such a huge fan of General Finishes' products. In the last year, I've used the gel stain (Java) to update all our orange oak trim, including a staircase and balusters. I've used milk paint to paint cabinets in two kitchens--in Queenstown Grey--to obliterate more 90's honey oak. We love that the grain remains visible in both the stain and the paint. Absolutely thrilled with the results! We are currently milk painting thrift store finds of chairs and candle holders to make everything coordinate for our daughter's wedding.... read more
