We are local and family owned. Our family has been in the business in Austin since 1954. We have been at our present location since 1973, we are one of the last original stores in the shopping center. We have 5 main employees: Gene(dad), Donna(mom), Kyle(son), Blake(grandson) and Rene. We even joke around and say that we adopted Rene. Rene is our lab tech, he cuts and measures the work. We do majority of the jobs in house. RecommendedIf you need your glasses fixed or any optical needs this is the place to go. When in with couples of my high end sunglasses to get fixed and Rene took care of it real quick and very professionally. I was extremely very impressed and the best part is that they didn’t even want to charge me so I just tip him instead. Definitely will be coming back here in the future for any of my optical needs.
I’ve been going to Gene Rogers for the past decade+ for my glasses. They carry incredible vintage frames and their taste is on point when it comes to sourcing the coolest, most flattering frames. I needed a new pair of glasses and had already been into their shop pre-covid to browse for frames. I called to describe the pair I wanted and they had several brand new pairs stocked. We went in to try to get lenses put into another frame. Been going there since 1998. Never had a problem. But today some new guy with a crappy attitude decides to tell us he couldn’t do that anymore. But, of course, tried to sell us other lenses. The dude working there today had an attitude problem. Poor customer service. Not helpful at all!

This is where I will go for glasses and lenses from now on! The entire staff took such pride in what they do and it's clear in their customer service. Their frames selections are surprisingly varied and eclectic for such a "small" store and their prices can't be beat!
I've been to at least 7 different places looking for new frames to pop my lenses into. Got turned away everywhere. Walked in here, they had me in and out in less than 15 minutes with affordable frames. All other places can suck it.
