Mom took me to see Dr. Calkins in 1989 since I could not see the chalkboard. After the exam, he suggested photos of the retina which came at an additional cost. From the photo of my retina, Dr. Calkins suggested I see a neurologist. I had stage 4 brain cancer! Even if the cancer did not spread, it could have cost me my vision. I owe my vision, and my life to Dr. Calkins!
