We have been to other counseling services for my daughter and never had a problem. I understand how billing works with counseling offices and if a mistake has ever happened, it has always been easily sorted. This is the worst center we have ever dealt with. They misbill you and reach into your account and take what they want, and when they are wrong, it takes an endless amount of calls and emails to rectify it! So, I admit that these providers want to help. That's good. If you or your loved one fits their model, maybe they can help you, but I still recommend against using them. To prevent writing a novel that no one wants to read, here is why in bullet points: RE: the office -They filed all our claims as in-person, when not one of us have stepped foot on their campus. GET AN ATTORNEY IF YOU BECOME A PATIENT AT GEARING UP. We have. The reason for this is they will refuse to allow you as a patient to have say in your treatment plan, claiming that you are required to do a set amount of sessions per week based on criteria they never explain nor have you consent to via a written OR verbal agreement. Not only that, they will hold your records & patient information, which is illegal. They will ignore all of your requests for this information, regardless of your numerous attempts of outreach. Jean and Chardae at the front are amazing; I have had so many questions and had to reschedule due to my crazy work schedule, and every time they help me out and get it all settled. They are so friendly and helpful! Dr. Milton Gearing is very nice and Megan Podlaski is down to earth and so easy to talk to. Their office also has therapy dogs in case you need a super cute puppy friend during your session. The lobby is warm and inviting and all the offices are big and professional but also cozy. Horrible. Not people oriented at all. Told me my daughter could not come back because I refuse to pay a make up fee of $160 for a $20 group class. They will not budge which tells me they only care about the money and not the patient.
