RecommendedI have been with G&D for a year as a road driver. I wanted to give an honest assessment that is why I am reviewing after 1yr of Service and not in the beginning to get a feel for everything. It’s not a bad company and has a ton of upsides. The insurance is actually really good for medical and Dental, haven’t used the vision yet. I have been with G&D for 13 plus years.Started out as a jockey driver at Mitsubishi. When they closed I was offered a truck driving position in Morton. I am very happy that I accepted the offer. They have been great to drive for. They try their best to work with you if you need time off or whatever comes up. I have no complaints and recommend them highly . 5⭐. I have been through the ringer with other companies. You get an entirely different, positive vibe from the other drivers I talked to all the way up through management to the owner. No company or job will ever be perfect, but they emphasize being up front and not manipulating drivers like pawns. One other thing I cans say is they're on a path to constantly improve the company. Looking forward to many years here.
They could pay the drivers and not send them out it crap equipment that breaks down or send them on wild goose chases so they dont get the miles they should have gotten because loads get refused.
I have said this to every new driver. a company is what you make of it. do your job, listen to other drivers and be respectful to other employees, management, and customers. I have been with G&D for 8 years now and I am not planning on leaving. I need home time or need to leave work early for dr or emergency or even not feeling good, I can count in G&D having my back just as I have my company's. 5stars isn't enough
Decent starting pay, benefits, and decent hours. Very hard working employees. However there is almost no maneuverability in the company, once you're on second shift or first, or in a spot that rarely gets filled they won't let you move.
worked intermodal for 7 years and left for 1 but came back.....if you think you can do better then g&d leave and see how other companies treat you!G&D IS THE BEST OUT THERE FOR OTL DRIVERS!
15 plus years in a G&D truck. Not always a bed of roses, but always understand the need for the thorns. If you come here and work hard, you'll do well.
