Dr. Phookan did surgery on my back 20 years ago and it still feels great. He is kind and always willing to listen.
I have had several surgeries with Dr Phookan and he treats me like family. He has watched my son grow up from a young child to graduating college and has always taken an interest in me as a person, not just another patient. I have stopped into the office over the years to check on the staff and Dr Phookan and anytime I felt I needed to see him he needed me, he always gets me right in. This was my third surgery on my back. 9 years ago I was hit by 2 different drunk driver 8 months apart. After two surgeries that helped with the pain for a few months I went right back to being miserable. Couldn't get out of bed at times, couldn't walk, couldn't play golf which was my career at the time, couldn't play with my nieces, it was horrible pain. I had a bulging disc in the L4 area of my spine. I had never heard of Dr. Phookan and had never been to Ball Memorial Hospital as a patient. It seemed as though things happened really fast as I injured my self on 12/2 and had surgery on 12/26. I was scared I was in a "meat market" situation at the hospital, BUT, this quickly became the best decision I had ever medically made for myself!
