I am submitting this statement to document the unsafe, unsanitary, and uninhabitable conditions at Garden Villa Apartments. When I moved in, the unit was filthy throughout, including a large sticky substance smeared on the wall, a significant hole in the floor, closet doors off their tracks, and a window that was falling out of its frame. The apartment lacked any ventilation or fans, which resulted in mold forming across the unit. An expensive, roach and bed-bug infested dump. They are attempting to raise my rent in a fixed term lease. Scummy landlord, dingy building, dirty apartments for move-in, windows that are not properly sealed… with fees it’s >$1600 for an unrenovated two-bedroom apartment with no dishwasher, in-suite laundry, or electricity included. 20% rent hikes with each new lease, homeless people wandering in to smoke crack in the stairwells, they filled the massive pot holes they had in the fall with gravel, tearing up the surrounding ar... read more
