Puppy Trouble Excellent! I recently adopted my first dog and at 6 months of age she ate 2 feet of zipper! (serves me right for buying her a new bed!) I had no idea what to do you and was so scared! I called Garden State Veterinary Specialists and actually got to speak to a Doctor! They told me to bring her in and they made her vomit. Luckily she vomited up the pieces of zipper and they watched her for the rest of the day. She was doing great until she ate an entire Tupperware container 4 months later. This time they didn't r... read more

surgery was a success! I adopted a puppy with a serious congenital defect that needed surgery. Most doctors that I went to were skeptic and wouldn't touch my dog's case. Then comes GSVS... When they first saw my puppy, they were also skeptical that they would be able to fix him, but they were willing to try. This is what I loved about this place, we went over the surgery together, every detail...I knew it was a complex procedure, but their expertise made me feel at ease. They made a plan, we listed the pros and cons of doing... read more

DEVASTATING EXPERIENCE We had a terrible experience in GSVS two weeks ago. Our precious dog was having heavy breathing & fever. We decided to bring her in to GSVS. After 12 hrs testing, Dr Pintar called and suggested surgery because she had a twisted lung. We asked for the successful percentage in the remedy of fixing the problem & he couldn't give us the answer. We brought up she had a liver shunt condition & asked if they might be able to fix that problem as well. He just replied by saying they were two different diseases ... read more

Dr. Gibson - Not Recommended I noticed something wrong with my 2.5 year old dog, so I brought her to my primary vet. He thought something was neurologically wrong with her, so he scheduled an emergency appointment with the neurologist, Dr. Gibson, on staff at Garden State Veterinary in Tinton Falls. I saw the neurologist and she was totally not interested in helping my dog. She acted like there was nothing wrong, except that my dog was blind, and didn’t look like she even wanted to exam her. She made me get expensive blood... read more

Nice Place to Go Large, attractive facility with many specialists who will treat your pet upon referral from your regular vet. My experience with the eye specialist was excellent - very professional and caring. They handle emergencies without a referral.

Great place to go! I was referred to Garden State by my vet. My beloved K9 companion had managed to tear her ACL and needed surgery on her left knee. They where very professional and went through all the options for her from doing nothing, surgery A, or surgery B. They explained the consequences and prognoses of each option. We elected to have the best thing done for Lucy and paid 50% of it. 3 days later she was in surgery, 2.5 months later she is tearing around the yard again chasing squirrels and just running around like a... read more

Cassidy Kiel/Dr. Alicia Henderson This review is dedicated to Cassidy Kiel, Dr. Alicia Henderson and Dr. Round, the wonderful doctor who made Cassie's passing the kindest of all. Our little Cassie was diagnosed with ITP in July of 2007, one week after receiving a nasal bordetella vaccine. She was only 3 years old. Cassie was our first dog - we did not know dogs got sick - or they could die. We were so unaware. Dr. Jason Pintar initially treated our girl, and she successfully recovered with the help of drugs and prednisone. I... read more

Miracle worker! Our family lovingly refers to Dr. Scavelli as “The Miracle Worker” for the lifesaving back operation that he did for our dog, Chip ten years ago. He became paralyzed because of a back problem and we had gone to a few vets who said our only option was putting him down, and since he was only 8 years old and in otherwise good health, (not to mention a huge part of our family) we kept trying. One Vet that we had gone to said “The only Dr. who can possibly save your dog is in Tinton Falls, NJ.” We bundled ... read more
