Nice ambience , food was not as good as I expected .
Excellent service, nice ambiance. Impressively served, but insipid lobster bisque. Very good caesar- & Martha's vineyard salads. Enjoyable crab cake. Superb Key lime pie.
I don't usually complain about restaurants but last night we went out for my wife's birthday ... Tues night=kinda quite. For the most part I think everyone's food was good ... I had oysters for starters and lobster bisque ... both were good. But I ordered the blackened Chilean sea bass. It was so greasy that I couldn't even finish it ... even got a headache from it. Great service, even with 15 in the party! We were celebrating 4 birthdays. They were patient and considerate of our large party.
The Gandy Dancer is way over priced for mediocre food. My husband and I both got the prime rib and it was 30% blubber fat. It was the most unappetizing meal I've ever seen. The cocktails are double the price of anywhere else. We were seated next to the wait staff station making for a less than pleasant atmosphere. This was our first and definitely last visit.
Took my son for his 21st birthday to the Gandy Dancer for dinner. Our waiter was great and on my son's menu they had pre-printed The Staff at the Gandy Dancer wishes you a happy 21st birthday. Food was delicious and the dessert was wonderful.
The service was great, and I loved where they sat our party of ten--not crowded at all. Have been here many times over the years and was a little disappointed in the Sunday brunch this time. The beef was tough and hard to cut. Also, some of the shrimp were under cooked. The eggs benedict were also very runny, including the whites. But for these three things, everything else was very good.
My 4th time in last 3 years. It has noticeably gone downhill regarding food quality. My wife ordered NY strip and I had the potato entrusted whitefish. Her steak was average or below at best. My my fish was bland and dry. Makes me wonder if there's a change in chefs.
My dinner and my husband's was "just food", and not worth the $30+ price. We are long time patrons, and for the first time felt very let down by our dining and wait staff experience. We had to remind the waitress to bring us bread, and this was after we had eaten our salads. We were not asked if we wanted another cocktail. Something has changed, and we're disappointed.
