About this business

A passionIn the late 1920s Edward Gallrein Sr. started a dairy farm business in Jefferson County Ky. He started with only about 17 head and over many years it grew to over 400. We spent the day with you picking our grandaughter's first pumpkin and we had a wonderful time. We didn't mind paying a small fee to ride out to the patch because it was far better and more family like than some of the larger places. Even though it was the Sunday before Halloween you were not all that busy (busy enough!), the staff was awesome, the food vendors were great and the drivers were patient. We shop with you all summer and we loved our first Halloween with you! Awesome farm!

An amazing establishment, great staff and beautiful scenery. Really reasonable. The tractor operator was really friendly and informative as well. My daughters first Halloween will be remembered by our trip and we hope to make this a tradition. Not to mention the best corn you may ever have.

We have enjoyed going to Gallrein's for many years. I was a little irritated that this year you all are CHARGING $2.00 to go out into the field to pick the pumpkins. I will be looking for a new place next year.

Business response:

Amy, we are sorry you weren't completely happy with your visit this year. I want to thank you for the feedback, as this is always greatly appreciated. Please allow me to take a moment to explain how we arrived at this decision so you may better understand the reasoning behind it. Over the past several years we've experienced a tremendous amount of growth, for which we are very grateful. With this growth comes added costs such as additional labor/employees, added activities to help fulfill our visitors experience, additional ... read more

Went out to this farm today to pick pumpkins as I have done the last few years with my son. This year they are charging $2.00 per person to ride to the pumpkin patch. Hubers Farm isn't charging. This will be my last year coming to this farm to pick pumpkins. Next year we are going to Sunny Acre Farm in Jeffersontown.

Business response:

Tami, we are sorry your experience wasn't what you'd maybe hoped for. In regards to our hayrides, this is something that was a hard decision to make but there is a cost associated with running 6-8 tractors each weekend with fuel and drivers. We do not charge admission which many farms do. This is something we feel is necessary to keep our farm safe and a family friendly environment for everyone. We definitely value your feedback and comments. Please allow me to take a moment to explain how we arrived at this decision so you ... read more
