In 1934, Denver's most notorious family, the Smalldones opened up an eatery in the North Side to become the heart of both Italian cuisine and an illicit operation. While drawing the neighborhood's attention to their famous pasta, they also drew the attention from police as Denver's only mafia operated in the basement. Outstanding restaurant and absolutely the best service, David waited on us and he is a true professional. Give it 10 stars.
It was a gastronomical delight! Dr. Lance told me that it's the best Italian resto in Denver and that I should not miss it while in town. Loved the Calamari Fritata, Bruschette Pomodoro, and Chicken Parmigiana. The Bugsy was soooo great that I had two - my compliments to the bartender. And to finish off dinner, a serving of light but rich flavored Tiramisu. The experience was so awesome that the bar is now set high if I go to other Italian restaurants.
My family stopped by on our way from Breckenridge to the Denver airport. I’ve never been more happy with a Google search in my life. All 6 of us tried different plates and all 6 of us cleared our plates. That was the first time I had ever tried gnocchi and I loved it. Will definitely come back the next time we go skiing.
Great neighborhood spot. Very consistently good. Great weekend brunches, too.
Went with friends and loved it. Our food was served quickly, the portions were perfect and bursting with flavor. Our server was attentive and friendly. We will absolutely return.
