Wonderful & imaginative menu. There were twelve of us & we were well cared for. Everyone loved everything from soup to dessert. Some reviewers complained that it was slow. If you want fast go to McDonald's. If you want the best food in Alpena come to The Fresh Palate.
My Wife her sister and some of their coworkers were in the other evening, after enjoying their meals and while finishing their drinks chatting abit, the hostess came over and pretty much told them they had to hurry up cause there was four women who just came in and wanted their table, even though there was other tables available. Kinda rude ha.

Hi Steve, I know which table you are talking about. The 5 ladies and 1 gentleman that we're waiting had a reservation. The server was just doing her job by informing the table that they were waiting to be seated is all. They were not rushed out. There were no other "6 top tables available" of course if there were, they would have been seated immediately. Just celebrated our 39th Anniversary at The Fresh Palate!! We had the best dinner!! Food is outstanding, service great, good atmosphere. Incredible layers of flavor! This is the VERY BEST food in Northern Michigan!! Thanks to Eric and his Great staff for another wonderful dining experience!!!

They rock it out of the park ! Food, service, love for the community! The best bloody place in town !
The summer sun salad was great, only thing I like to put my own dressing on. Got sweet potato, chicken, leek soup I tried really hard to like it, but after 4-5 spoons I just couldn't do it, had a spice that just didn't taste good to me. But I will be back and try other stuff next time I'm in town. Was traveling for work.
