I was admitted for my asthma and very quickly. I was taken care of by the entire staff. There were too many staff members to mention, but they were all very nice courteous and very respectful. I like them a lot better than Alvarado and I’m glad they have taken over the hospital.
Absolutely horrific medical care. I was transferred here from the UCSD Hillcrest emergency room for critical care several weeks ago. The problems with this facility are massive and systemic, even after the UCSD takeover. The attending physician who was assigned to me ignored my lab results and ignored medical protocols, removed me from all treatment, and removed *all* of my treatment orders. My exsperience with the ER was aweful...terrible service. I arrived to a empty ER lobby .waited in a freezing cold lobby for 2 hours just to get in triage ,then told i would be getting into a room as they had a discharge leave ....3 people out never got a bed .2 more hours later WEIRD doctor comes and pulls me outside of the lobby front entrance and does my examine,and( does others the same way) tells me he was sending a presciption in for me to pick up 10 mins more they say leave and dont even give me treatment papers . OMG, as a UCSD employee im ashamed of our "East county" location. I brought my daughter here and it's absolutely horrible. The staff completely unprofessional, there's a nurse wearing a spiked dog collar.... seriously. The staff put my daughter in a chair by the nurses station, asked her her symptoms, didn't even listen to her breathing and said I don't think you have pneumonia but we will get a chest xray and that's only because I mentioned to her the both her step dad and brother have pneumonia at home.
