Run by the celebrated Scotto family, Fresco by Scotto is famous as much for its friendly service as for its Italian fare. Located in the Midtown neighborhood, it brings to New York the authentic flavors of Italian home-cooked food. Their menu consists of exquisite delicacies like Spaghetti Alla Chitarra, Shrimp Tagliolini and their special Fresco Risotto. Their wine list, compiled by their very own Anthony Scotto Jr., is an award winning collection, so do try a glass.

Dining up and out – Everything was good- the fresh peach iced tea, the rabbit, the polenta I had and the entire staff and care we had,. We had last minute dinner ploans, and glad we came here. Pricey, but if someone else is picking up the tab-come here!!
I'd go back for more – I'm very satisfied with the quality of food, service and atmosphere of Fresco. Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth it to treat yourself once in a while with an awesome dining experience. If I have to say something negative about the place, it would be the wait. We made reservations, but we still had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. Perhaps that goes to show how wonderful Fresco is with its overfilled dining room...
Disappointed return customer – An unfortunate and disappointing experience. Took whole family for my father's birthday. It was his last visit to NYC (he had cancer) and I wanted to make this special. But the lobster pasta was so bad and so un-fresh we had to send it back, and they charged us for two extra entrees without any explanation. When I complained to the manager, he changed the bill but didn't apologize. I called the next day and spoke to another manager, but he didn't offer any kind of compensation. My father did lo... read more
Good food, but bad vibe... – Went to Fresco for the second time yesterday. The food (Eggplant and Zucchini pie) was much better than last time (can't remember what I had, if that says something). The service seemed fine to me. The prices, however, are a little bit out of control. My lunch entree was $22 and I was turned off by the fact that they will charge you an entree price if you order a salad for lunch (c'mon - a $22 salad!). Gotta make sure they squeeze each person for at least $20 bucks!
rude bartender!! – I've been entertaining clients at Fresco for a couple of years now on a few occasions, but have decided that this I will no longer be visiting. It is a wonder to me why this one bartender in particular is still employed there. Perhaps she is a relative of the Scotto family? Her service has always been a let- down and after this last visit, i will no longer be returning. It's a shame, the food really is quite good.
One of the best! – I am a regular customer of Fresco and am always impressed with the service and the quality of the food. The Scotto family is great at making you feel at home. It is my regular place to bring clients and friends from out of town.
