Awesomely Good Place for Lunch – new to austin and my coworkers brought me to freebird for lunch. The line was long but the staffs were fast! Burritos are huge and i ordered a salad, their hot sauce was awesome! I actually have craving for freebird whenever i hear the commercial on radio now.
HUGE burritos and extremely fresh – I have been a huge Chipotle junkie for years and my friends have been asking me to try Freebirds for awhile. Although I was hesitant, I reluctantly drove half an hour and had my first experience there. It's pretty unique on the inside, decorated with bricks and paint. Nostalgic stuff adorns the walls. Best Burrito! – My husband and I have heard people talk about Freebirds, but we had never tried it. Finally, we gave into our gut instinct and gave this place a try. We were amazed! We were pleasantly greeted, and we told them it was our first time dining there. They were so warm and friendly, and went down through the whole ordering process. Pricy, uninspired. – I have to say I didn't like the place. I'm from El Paso, and when we go to a burrito place we expect to see things like chile verde, chile colorado, carnitas, etc. Having the option to choose between beef or chicken just doesn't cut it. The sauces are not good either. I know that pico de gallo varies from region to region, but I do know that it should be spicy and tangy. For what we get, the price is quite high. I much prefer the two dollar burritos off the burrito truck at the local construction sites.
Expensive by the time you add guac and sour cream. Meat didn't taste very good. – So I stopped by Freebirds after hearing the radio commercials over and over and over... The atmosphere was so bland I don't really remember much about the place. I went in for a "to go" order for a friend and myself. By the time I had added some guacamole and sour cream it was over $15 for 2 burritos, and we didn't even order a drink to get the total that high. Build a great burrito your way – This is THE place to get a burrito. It is built to order just the way you want. Fair price for the largish portions. Bonus is the AMY's ice cream next door.
Yum... foooood! – One of the coolest things that you notice when first walking into any Freebirds, is the amount of local foil art that you see (you can be a foil artist too!). If you come to freebirds, you have to get a burrito. The burritos are pretty much customizable and the sizes can get to be HUGE. I had a friend that ordered the super monster, and he had to take a nap halfway through before he could finish it. I strongly recommend this place for non texans and for a great lunch.
BEST burrito in austin – Freebirds is the place to get it, no contest. The good people at the Hancock center Freebirds have been keeping college students well fed for years.
