Awesomely Good Place for Lunch – new to austin and my coworkers brought me to freebird for lunch. The line was long but the staffs were fast! Burritos are huge and i ordered a salad, their hot sauce was awesome! I actually have craving for freebird whenever i hear the commercial on radio now.
burritojonz DOT com is the best EVER – This place does not compare to " Burrito Jonz" burritojonz DOT com aaa aaaa aaaaaaa aaaa aaa aaa alllllllllll lllllllll llllllllllllll llllllldd dddddd dddddddddddddd dddo oooooooo ooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrr rrrppp ppppppp ppppppppp pkkkk kkkkk kkkkkkkk kklllllllllllsss sssssssssss ssssssss ssssssssssss ssss ooooo oooo ooooooo oooo oooooooooo ooeeee eeeee eeeeeeeee eeeeee
Pricy, uninspired. – I have to say I didn't like the place. I'm from El Paso, and when we go to a burrito place we expect to see things like chile verde, chile colorado, carnitas, etc. Having the option to choose between beef or chicken just doesn't cut it. The sauces are not good either. I know that pico de gallo varies from region to region, but I do know that it should be spicy and tangy. For what we get, the price is quite high. I much prefer the two dollar burritos off the burrito truck at the local construction sites.
Yum... foooood! – One of the coolest things that you notice when first walking into any Freebirds, is the amount of local foil art that you see (you can be a foil artist too!). If you come to freebirds, you have to get a burrito. The burritos are pretty much customizable and the sizes can get to be HUGE. I had a friend that ordered the super monster, and he had to take a nap halfway through before he could finish it. I strongly recommend this place for non texans and for a great lunch.
BEST burrito in austin – Freebirds is the place to get it, no contest. The good people at the Hancock center Freebirds have been keeping college students well fed for years.
mmm – Freebirds is my Austin comfort food. White meat chicken with rice and black beans, with cilantro, tomatoes, lettuce, lime juice, death sauce, and a ton of their "bad *ss barbeque" sauce. Heck yeah. Great, fast service, too. You won't need to eat again for HOURS.
Burrito shop on the UT campus makes large wrap-style burritos for the lunch crowd and for those on study breaks. – In Short The current incarnation of Freebirds began in College Station, catering to hungry students with its fresh food, good prices and fun atmosphere. The Austin location in the Hancock Center has successfully continued this tradition with a rock-and-roll burrito assembly line and a Statue of Liberty riding out of the far wall into midair. Tell the couterstaff your burrito size and type of tortilla, choose you... read more
pretty good, but not awesome – First of all, the service has always been really great. Super friendly people. But I agree with another reviewer about the lack of creativity. I don't think the menu options are that special. Yeah, you have a choice between 4 types of tortillas, and it's cool that you don't have to wonder about whether the beans and rice are vegetarian (they are). But the fillings are nothing to brag about- e.g. the guacamole is made from a pre-mashed avocado mix, not fresh. Totally fresh guacamole is key. If a... read more
A solid burrito, but lacks style – Freebirds makes a solid burrito. The ingredients are mostly solid and fresh, but the main negative at Freebirds is that they don't have any real formula and resort to the assembly-line choose your own adventure burrito. This is nice every once in a while, but shows an overall lack of creativity. If they know how to make a good burrito, why can't they make one without forcing the customer to spend 5 minutes in line picking each and every ingredient. With a little more style and a proper menu... read more
