Amazing, healthful, yummy and fresh choices. I LOVE Freebirds! – I always order the freebird with flour. I get lettuce, rice, black beans and one sliver of sour cream and about half a serving of cheese. The ingredients are fresh and everything is vegetarian except for the meat (beans are veggie). The staff is eclectic and work fast. Price is right and I love the frequent buyer card.
Perfect pre-game meal – We always stop at Freebirds on our way to any Mavs or Stars game. It is the perfect alternative to the overpriced and tasteless concessions at the game. I always go for the half bird. It's smaller than the full sized burrito, but it is MORE than enough for me. Load it with chicken, rice, beans, and all the fresh veggies and salsa you can handle. Delish!
Great food, creepy and disrespectful employee (Ashley??) -- place will be great again when she's gone – This review is going to start out crappy, but end delicious. Bear with me now... I've been a longtime Freebirds junkie (at several locations in Tejas), but will most likely never return to the Houston Freebirds Shepherd location due to a specific employee. Her name is Ashley (last name, no clue) and she has been repeatedly brash and inappropriate in hitting on my guy when we've been there. Like, to the extent where we simp... read more
Best Burritos Ever!! – This is my very favorite place to eat. I drive 2 hours to eat Freebirds burritos! I love that I can get a great vegetarian burrito just the way I want it!
man burrito – when i am hung over and need a burrito i go to freebirds. Then I feel like a grizley bear for a couple of hours, but mmmmmm really good burritos. Also I call in burritos and pick them up. That kicks but when there is a huge line and you can walk around it.
Awesome burritos – As any Austinite or UT student knows, Freebirds has the best burritos around. If you like imposter mexican food, then Chipotle is probably for you, but if you want the real thing go for Freebirds!
Not bad, but still a Chipotle fan. – Overall, Freebirds isn't too bad. They're higher priced than their rival, Chipotle, which is a con, but they DO have free flowing cilantro, which is always a plus for me. They also charge for sour cream, which is kind of ridiculous. Their rice is a little bland, but, like I said, it's not bad. It's about a 9.50+ meal for a burrito of comparable size (like from Chipotle) and a soda. The major plus? Amy's Ice Cream is right next door. Give it a shot. My friends who prefer Freebirds say it's... read more
Best Burritos in Town – This is hands down the best place in Houston for a made to order burrito. Ingredients are always fresh and way more variety than other burrito places. Try some roasted garlic and the BBQ sauce on your burrito - it's really good!
terribly dry burrittos – This place is terrible. Dry burrittos and chewy tasteless tortillias. Forget the liberal sounding name, this place is a joke. Please, go to Chipotle for a good fat warm burritto.
