GGG rating. Great service, Great food, Great atmosphere = great overall experience. Free State provides excellent service even when they are busy.
It's OK. Their beer is the best part. Food is OK not great and a little over priced, very crowded and loud which is off putting for me, feel like you're on top of the table next to you.
I have never had a bad experience with Free State Brewing Company. I love the beer, the menu items and the staff are always very friendly, polite and professional! Been going there since they opened the doors back in '89. And, I will keep coming. :)

Great brews and food. Our server, Lindsay, was very knowledgeable about their products and was a delight throughout our visit. Will definitely visit again if in the area.
First time ever in Lawrence. We were referred by a friend to visit free state and we were so grateful she did! Absolutely incredible food, service, and alcohol! We were told "approx 30 minute wait" and only had to wait 7 minutes on a Friday night, on a weekend with a Jayhawks game! I will be recommending this to anyone and I hope we can make it back!
I love Free State! I always look forward to coming here, although it is very busy it's worth the wait.
