Best place ever. Had brewers reserve and their bisquit brisquit. Best meal and beer ever
Beer is great! Atmosphere is nice too, preserved the older building. We had dinner Saturday night with our sons. Service was excellent, the food was nothing special. I will return, but will try lunch. There are better places in Lawrence for dinner.
Great place to eat or just enjoy a good beer. This is where I met my husband for our first date, so it holds an extra special place in my heart. Cheers!

Free State is our absolute favorite place to eat & drink in Lawrence. In the 20+years we have been eating there we have never been disappointed. The onion rings are the best anywhere. We love Free State Brewery.
The only place with a veggie burger so delicious, that meat eaters order them regularly.
The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Lawrence.
Dear Free State Brewery, You have always been my favorite restaraunt in LFK. I spent 10 years working downtown and telling everyone who asked where to eat, "Free State Brewery." I have moved to Oregon and still eat at Free State every single time I return. I don't want to leave you, but I will. Look to our history and your namesake. Waitress was very helpful on the brews, recommendation was spot on for my taste. Loved the interior where we could see the brewery. Food was good, quick! Was there for their first happy hour, I am from 2.5 hours away, but if local I would be a repeat customer for that. If I am ever back in Lawrence, I will be back at Free State.
