We go to Freestate all the time and love it! I had the mushroom/vodka pasta special last night and it was divine. It should be added to the permanent menu!!! Also loved the Czech Pils, will be back soon to fill my growler.
The wait was super long, but the good was really really good!
I haven't lived in Lawrence for almost 3 years and I still recommend and talk about Free State! All the way in Seattle! There are amazing breweries out here and I always compare them to Free State. I've found beer that is comparable but I've never found anything better. And the fact that the food is amazing is just an added perk.

Food is always consistently good. Been coming here since their first week in business. Travel all over the USA and have been to many well known breweries. Food and beer is as good or better than any I have tried. Love the new Yakimaniac.

I tried Free State today for the first time! I am here from Iowa City visiting family and my uncle and I decided to have lunch here. The food and service were phenomenal! I can't wait to come back!
Fish and Chips are really good! Their brew is great tasting!
