I agree with all of the bad reviews.I had the same experience and will never go back. And whoever thinks he spends his own money is an idiot. He has fundraisers and grants.Where does that money go? He sure doesn't spend it on his patients. The first and last time I went for seveir back pain after a fall.He walked in looked at me and started preaching about how good we have it in America.Guess what! So do you Jack a.....You got free education and housing while you went through med.school.Then said and I quote " your fat" and wal... read more
Hello, Dr. Kim, in my humble opinion is an excellent doctor that I would gladly and most definitely recommend. He's a straight shooter, intelligent and very accurate. He discovered that I was allergic to Sulfa medications and since I've discovered that I am sulfite intolerant as well. Without his first discovery I would never have known why I couldn't breathe and why my throat was constantly swelling up. I now know to watch out for Sulfa drug medications and sulfites in my food as I am part of the 1% that is extremely allerg... read more
In an effort to get my blood pressure under control, I have purchased a very good monitor. I was told by Dr. Kim’s nurses that my blood pressure was high. As well as Dr’s X to try to get my weight under control. They advised me to see my Doctor and get my blood pressure under control. I have seen Dr. Kim twice now for him to do something about it. He took my blood pressure both times and a week apart. The interesting thing is he would come in right after his nurse said it was high and he read my blood pressure and tell me hi... read more
WORST HUMAN TREATMENT EVER – When you enter the waiting area at Dr Kim's, there are several containers of cigarette butts displayed with a poster of normal and diseased lungs. The volunteers at the front desk are very nice. When called back, the nurse was very nice but she had no idea where anything was. I explained to her that I was having pain in my kidney area, and problems with my bladder. Dr Kim came in and didnt even address my complaint. He went into this speech about how overweight I am. Told me to stay away from fre... read more
I have visited Dr. Kim. First - yes, if you smoke, he is going to tell you to stop smoking, he can't do a lot to help you if you are not willing to stop damaging your body. Second - if you are over weight, begin a weight loss plan and diet immediately. Dr. Kim's idea on smoking, illegal drugs, over weight, etc. is that YOU have CHOSEN to damage your body, and NO ONE can help you until YOU decide to help yourself and take better care of yourself. I absolutely agree with him. Third - Dr. Kim is Korean. Many Koreans, Asians, sp... read more
If overweight or a smoker, DO NOT COME TO THIS CLINIC – In response to Whitela 1's response, I understand your commitment to Dr. Kim and your workplace, but Dr. Kim is clearly not the same man you see as to who we see. My first appointment was yestereday. And He had me bawling my eyes out telling me that there was no reason for me to have even come yesterday because If I had no desire to quit smoking and lose weight, then why try to preserve my life anyways. I explained to him that it is harder to quit then he knew. And I ex... read more
Waste of time – The volunteers here were extremely nice. Dr. Kim was very rude. He was condescending and disrespectful. He barely listened to me. I came in complaining of recurring chest pain and arm/shoulder pain. I told him I had heart work and lung x-rays done & everything was normal. He said I should get my heart checked out. He did not want to listen to what I had to say at all. He didn't give me any useful information...just told me at 147 lbs and 5'6 I am probably overweight and I should do some stretches since I sit ... read more
In regards to the comment about the clinic being rude – I am one of the nursing volunteers and have been for the past year. I just want to say, I have never heard Dr. Kim or anyone else at the clinic make remarks that are derogatory about anyone, every!! And as far as referring a patient out for treatment, you have to qualify for those services through a separate organization called KAPA to get specialist care. They have there own list of qualifications that have nothing to do with the clinic. For example: you have to be a K... read more
Rudest place I've ever been – Save your time everyone, go to the TN Health Dept. I went to the Free clinic on Chapman Hwy for a hurt knee and a hernia. I am over weight and Dr Kim was extremely rude and prejudice against overweight people. He was the most rudest man I've ever met in my life. He said my knee/hernia were caused by my weight. (I fell 8 weeks ago which is how I hurt myself which he ignored completely) He wouldn't examine me or help me at all and just kept repeating how big I was and that I needed Health Insuranc... read more
