Great Healthy Food – Fran's Filling Station was a great surprise. My husband brought me there yesterday saying that it was his new favorite place and that the fries were fantastic. He wasn't kidding - the fries were great and so was everything else.
I love Fran's Filling Station! My mom and I decided to eat here because we loved the Metropolitan Bakery and Cafe. When we went into the restaurant we were greeted by friendly servers and observed happy customers. We couldn't wait to try the "Best Fries in Charlotte" -boy were they fabulous! Everyone knows Fran's for the incredible lunch sandwhiches but you have to try the dinner menu. My favorite entree is the meatballs. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte - the food is delicious, the atmosphere is homey and whimsical and the service is good and endearing. I went with my daughter, and the server said, "I bet you don't like vegetables, do you? But you should try ours - you'll love them!" She was right! I've been there several times and tried many items on the menu. I love the hot sandwiches and fries, and the dinner menu is comforting and not like any other restaurant in town.
Absolutely wonderful! – I've heard so many reviews about Fran's and was dying to check it out om my own. I had no trouble finding it however, I know the area well. It's located in the same shopping center as Ru San's Sushi Restaurant. I joined a friend for dinner and as soon as we were sat they informed us they were having a free wine tasting that evening, even better! had a great time – my fiance and i went to frans the other night and had a good time. my waiter was fun and got whatever i needed. the food was great but the portions were to big, i left there really full. i would definatly go back.
The service we received for Friday-night dinner -- in a restaurant only half full -- was the worst I ever have had in a Charlotte restaurant... or perhaps anywhere. At one point, the waitress came over and just said, "Oh, I forgot you all"; no apology, no nothing. LOVE this place!! – This was my fourth visit to Fran's... I heard they had the best fries in the city so I had to put them to the test! We had the "secret spicy sprinkle fries" and I would have to agree they were damn good. Our food was exceptional as well... we had the rosemary chicken, meatballs, and the ribs. Also "Chad's tropical sangria" hit the spot! I'm glad I found this place... it's my new favorite in Charlotte!!
