Overpriced- nice restaurant Living in Chapel Hill, the nice restaurants are few and far between, so this one is overrated for what it offers. It is one of the nicest Italian restaurants in the area, but I was not that impressed with the food. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything different than any and every other Italian restaurant I have eaten at. It does have many wine options as well as daily specials. One of Chapel Hill's best restaurants This is one of the classic best restaurants in Chapel Hill. It is romantic, yet also energetic and great for meeting friends. There are a few different rooms, and the one in the back feels like you are on a patio in Italy. The food is great, and the fare ranges from personal pizzas to expensive steak and fish. There is also a full bar. This place is always crowded, especially during UNC events, but it is well worth the wait.
Good food, not a great value We had high expectations for Four Eleven West since it had been recommended to us by several people. The food was tasty and the service was very good. The prices are a little steep though for what you get. I guess you are paying for the ambiance, which is also nice. However if you are looking for a value, this is not your best bet. There are many nice Italian eateries in Chapel Hill and Durham that provide heaps of yummy food for less.
Pricey, but worth it! Located right in the heart of Chapel Hill's Franklin St., 411 West is a great spot for a quick business lunch, or a nice dinner for a big date. While the specialty is Italian, 411 also has top-notch burgers and fries. Guys and girls alike will love this one! And hey, you never know who you'll run into. I saw Joe Montana at lunch with his wife just last week!
From Romance to Garden, 411 has it all! – I must admit to being a huge fan of Four Eleven West...I've dined there a number of times and I'm always impressed. The wait staff is top-notch. The atmosphere is quite unique, and it's flexible too, as there are really three different rooms in which one can dine! Mediocre – I ate at 411 a few years ago and thought it was spetacular. I just visited it again this past weekend and I have to say the experience was mediocre. While the homemade pasta was decent, but the pasta sauce was plain and bland. I could have gotten a better pasta dish going to Macaroni Grill. While the server was nice, but she didn't really do a good job following up with everything. There is definitely much better places to go than 411.
Great place for quiet but upbeat dinner. – Possibly one of the best ambiences on Franklin Street, Four Eleven West provides lovely atmosphere that would be great for a romantic dinner for two or a group of old friends. The cuisine is fantastic, and once you get past the wait on the traditional busy nights, the service is great.
Lovely presentation, lovely evening – We'd driven by 411 a number of times recently and finally decided to try it last night. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, the prices are reasonable, and food is great. I was happily surprised at how delicate the sauces were--so often cream sauce makes you feel like you need to spend 3 hrs. on a treadmill the next day to assuage your guilt. The pumpkin mousse cake with cranberries looked wonderful on the plate and tasted wonderful too, though it did seem a bit out of place on a May menu.
Wont be going back – We went here a few months ago, and unfortunately will not be returning. Some ordered the beef, but the potatoes and veg were hardly cooked. They sent them back - 3 times - and each time they came back almost the same. Eventually we asked for the manager, who was extremely rude and condesending to us, saying that the potatoes and veg were always prepared that way.
