I learned about FFB in 1998 at a Visions conference. What was only a dream - treatment and cures for retinal diseases - has become a reality! Thru FFB I met people just like me. Thru FFB I learned I don't have to learn Braille, get a dog and wait to go blind. I can be pArt of the solution. I can participate in research, find great doctors, raise money for research. Life does not end as vision changes. Thank you FFB, especially NYC chapter
It's a great foundation in raising awareness to fight blindness.
Very touching indeed to touch the lives of those in need.
I am believing in the promise that there will one-day be a cure to stop the progression of blindness caused by Retinitis Pigmentosa. Being educated is important.
Today October 18, 2015 My first Vission Walk volunteer experience held@ Water Park of beautiful San Diego, California. I had fun, meet new friends, learned about the Foundation Fighting Blindness, meet the Team who organized the events, it's Amasing. Miss Donna Cohen & Kathy Gonzalez were wonderful leader, they work so hard today. I'm looking forward for 2016 Events, I hope to help more next year, like get more people to get involve & donate in the FFB.
I have found this site to be extremely helpful, for information & the latest research & trials. the people i have met through the site, are incredible.
Glad to see a comment on Ushers Syndrome. Didn't think I would learn anything new, but I did with this group. They are working on a cure for a rare disease. Very refreshing.
Found out about this website through the book Eye Envy: Perspectives Into Vision Loss by Michael Stone. Bought his book on Amazon recently. He has brought me hope & is educating me on how to adapt more to my surroundings as I lose more of my eyesight! And as Gordon Gund*s inspirational story is the second interview in Michael's book, I became curious about the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
Thank you to FOUNDATION FIGHTING BLINDNESS for increasing my understanding of Retinal Eye diseases, and for supporting Research for cures. My Aunt sent me a mask with tiny eye holes to simulate loss of all peripheral vision. It was like looking through two straws, and so very limited and difficult to walk around my home.
