excellent Pizza – Fortel's is a must try for all pizza lovers. The pizza is some of the best I've ever had & Bob Fortel truly believes in making a top notch product.
The ONLY StLouis Pizza – After an exhuastive search which resulted in numerous tongue scrapings, we found Fortell's. Great family pizza joint that PILES on the toppings, more than making up for the traditional st. louis-style non-existent crust. Staff is friendly and the place knows how to deal with kids: pizza slice-shaped plates. The Shelly's Delux it the fav here and the pasta is good too. Small Kirkwood location can get load, but then again, you don't have to tell your kids to shhh.
Devine! – Just the best ever! As a lifelong resident of south St. louis County, I cannot believe that I discovered Fortels less than 3 years ago...It is just unbelievable. You gotta try Jan's Taco, complete with jalepenos and Dorito chips on top...gotta taste it to believe it. Half baked are perfect to pick up after work!
Mmmm GOOD! – Terrific Pizza! THey add special ingredients (oregano and??) that give it a unique taste. THey also use REAL mozzarella and it is nice and stringy, so you KNOW! Very fresh ingredients, and a GREAT selection and friendly family atmosphere, with GREAT service! (And I don't even KNOW the owners!)
Beats Imo's – By far the best pizza in the St. Louis area. Need to add one in the West County area.
Yummy Pizza – It reminds me of the pizza I grew up with. I loved the sauce, crust and the toppings, boy the toppings are the best - lots of it. They fill it all around (not just a little, but packed).
best pizza in town – Whenever anyone comes to visit and we go for pizza, Fortel's is the place, hands down ! Even friends across the river in Illinois ask me to bring Fortels when we have a dinner get together. Their crust is crisp and tasty and they LOAD the toppings on the pizza. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting. The dining room can get crowded at times. There is outside seating in the summer. Very large parking lot.
Spanks Imos Silly – i love imo's for the sheer "st. louisness" of it, and the fact that the provel always burns the roof of your mouth... BUT fortel's is by far a superior pizza. the ingredients are more generous, the waitstaff is MUCH friendlier, and every Fortel's i've been to knocks Imo's right on its butt in the Cleanliness department. I know for many st. louisans it's hard to give up on Imo's but i think it's lost its touch... it doesn't taste as good as it did 15 years ago. does anyone else agree??
