I was under Dr. Fonseca's care for 18 months while I temporarily lived in Orem, Utah. She was caring, very thorough and I felt I got the best care possible. After moving back to the east coast for a year, I got a call from her office inquiring as to why I had not been in for an annual visit. Very few doctors would take the time to keep tract of a patient who had not been in for a while. That was another way she impressed me!
I had 2 ER visits for suspected TIAs. The ER advised me to contact my GP. I had an appt a week later. When I was telling her about my ER visits and my sypthoms she cut me off and said that I was fatigued and then told her nurse to check my iron. She didn't offer to refer me to a neurologist. I felt like she wasn't listening to me. Two weeks I found out that I have myasthenia gravis, a neuro-muscular autoimmune disease. I found this out from a neurologist that I personally found.
